There is a woman in ancient writings who has the following description,

Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.

Reading this I had a moment of inspiration, and so it became the title of my fourth book.

I wrote it for a number of reasons.

  • I wanted to help the vast number of people who had stopped smiling at the future, start again. Did you know that on average, children can laugh up to 400 times a day. Many adults have lost their zing and on average laugh about 4 or 5 times a day
  • Like I used to be, many people are poorly prepared for the future. We are experiencing a longevity revolution and many discover they have more days to live than resources to enjoy them. Nothing to smile about there.
  • Because there was a time when my future looked bleak and I was deeply worried about my future and my reputation. A financial crisis humbled me. Rather than quit on life I embarked on a steep learning curve. With the help of a few trusted third parties I recovered, prepared for the future and learned the secrets of contentment.
  • I want people to be so inspired as they read this book that they lean in to a mentor relationship with me so I can help them smile at the future too.

Review:

“This book was clearly set out and well researched. It is an easy read, interesting, informative and challenging. Most of all, it cuts through much of the confusion and intellectual overload that characterises the Information Age and puts life into perspective. Highly recommended”
