“Tricky thing, life, we’re all getting older.
Who knows when we’ll get the tap on the shoulder.”

We all live our lives against the backdrop of eternity.

Our mortal coil is merely the prelude, a very important one, to a life that goes on forever. Our choices here affect our future there.

And what will it be like? Here is great encouragement from God’s book, the Bible.

“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Poems don’t have to be long. One day these words came to me…

“Tricky thing, life, we’re all getting older.
Who knows when we’ll get the tap on the shoulder.”
